Emotional Abuse Verbal Abuse Message Board

Posted by Hannah at 6:42 AM

Recently I knew board has popped up, and I wanted to point it out due to the fact it also has a section for people of faith! It seems to be the traffic is quite good, and if you are needing input quickly this would also be a good source of support.

I know I have mentioned others in the past, but I wanted to introduce you to a new one. It seems also very well moderated.

Here is another awesome message board with a section for people of faith: www.drirene.com/catbox
the website is a wealth of information about verbal/emotional abuse www.drirene.com
The combination of the website info and the message board literally my sanity and perhaps my life.

It looks a lot like another site we both know well.
And I see some familiar names on it.
Is there any connection? Or anything I should know going from one to the other and before registering there?

You may indeed see some familiar faces there, but I think that may be where the connection ends. Everyone is very welcome at this one - as I'm sure with others.

I would say its the same principal there as well. I only know of three right off the top of my head. Pat's board, Dr Irene, and now Our Place. Of course you also have Jesus Heals Abuse - almost forgot about that! LOL!

YEP I have mentioned Dr Irene's a number of times! She does have some very powerful - eye opening articles on her home page. I agree!

I think that board as saved many lifes!

Verbal Abuse occurs when one person uses words and body language to inappropriately criticize another person. Verbal abuse often involves 'putdowns' and name-calling intended to make the victim feel they are not worthy of love or respect, and that they do not have ability or talent. If the victim speaks up against these statements, they are often told that the criticisms were "just a joke", and that it is their own problem that they do not find the joke funny. They may also be told that no abuse is happening; that it is "all in their head". Verbal abuse is dangerous because it is often not easily recognized as abuse, and therefore it can go on for extended periods, causing severe damage to victim's self-esteem and self-worth. Damaged victims may fail to take advantage of opportunities that would enrich their lives because they come to believe they are not worthy of those opportunities

For 13 years I have known a woman, whom I deeply love, but who is so very mentally disturbed, that her actions will force me from her. Unfortunately, no one will, or can do anything to help her, or to help me. Although she has many friends, none have stayed with her for at least 40 years, and really scarcely know her. She verbally abuses me, and intentionally does things which will make me angry, and then uses that anger against me, and makes me look like a villan; and then she tells her friends. A number of times, I've given me notice ( for I rent from her ), and then she will ask me to stay, and I am always overwhelmingly eager to stay and try again, and hope that all will be better.
